Smiley, the Blind Therapy Dog
Smiley was a therapy dog that was born without eyes. In 2004, Smiley was rescued from a puppy mill by his pet parent, Joanne George.
When no one would adopt Smiley, Joanne and her family did! Their mission was to prove that blind dogs could do anything sighted dogs could do!
Keeping Smiley Moving
As Smiley aged, he began to struggle a little with joint and mobility issues. Previously working as a veterinary assistant, Joanne was aware of the benefits of COSEQUIN®, so that was her first choice for Smiley. In addition, Smiley’s veterinarian also recommended COSEQUIN® to help keep him moving!
Smiley was a certified child therapy dog. He visited classrooms and hospitals, serving as a friendly reminder that even if you are born different, you can do whatever you put your mind to.
Unfortunately Smiley recently passed away at the age of 15. Join us in sending thoughts and prayers to Smiley's family. We thank Joanne for sharing him with the world, as Smiley had a global impact on so many lives and will truly be missed.
